The developers of this loft project in Emeryville were the first to make loft-living commonplace in the Bay Area. As pioneers of the development concept, they wanted their new design to use a diversity of materials to challenge the cookie-cutter look of many other loft projects. Since this focus made the project unique, we recommended concentrating on the façade of the building. We made the model at a large enough scale that we could model the aluminum lap siding, stucco, wood slats, bolts (holding the slats in place), as well as gutters, downspouts, and tiny door handles. This wall-mounted piece of Model Art™ is now the focal point in the Holliday Development Sales Center. It will eventually be moved to a permanent display site at their main office where it will celebrate their early work for years to come—a great value for the investment.
